There are many gratifying moments as a small business owner; creating, designing, providing products and services that people want or that fill a need. For me at the top of that list is the act of financially compensating employees for their work. A cycle or chain of events was put in motion with that act; knowing that the paycheck contributes to their lively hood, knowing they will spend money paying bills to support service providers and spend money at their local merchants...and that allows the cycle to continue by those small business owners...and so on, and so on....
"Industry is increased, commodities are multiplied, agriculture and manufacturers flourish: and herein consists the true wealth and prosperity of a state." Alexander Hamilton 1790

Happy Birthday George Washington
"First in war, first in peace, and first in the hearts of his countrymen, he was second to none in humble and enduring scenes of private life. Pious, just humane, temperate, and sincere; uniform dignified, and commanding; his example was as edifying to all around him as were the effects of that example lasting; correct throughout, vice shuddered in his presence and virtue always felt his fostering hand. The purity of his private charter gave effulgence to his public virtues." John Marshall, official eulogy of George Washington, delivered by Richard Henry Lee 1799
